Using SE'd Apple Product 09-29-2017, 11:06 PM

Theoretically, would it be safe to use an apple laptop that was "lost" by Amazon? Would registering the serial number ping anything?
Trying to do some research but I don't see any info online.

You can just sell the product and buy a legit one with the money

If you just refunded it through Amazon you're fine as I'm 98.956% sure Amazon isn't going to report that "INSERT DEVICE SERIAL HERE" was lost in transit and may have been stolen. Lock it down". However if you tried to SE a laptop through Apple and chose a serial from another person, and their device gets locked down or anything and they report it, yours may go down.
Don't think this is as big of a concern for their laptops as it is for their iPhones, but can't confirm.

What if I made a huge fiasco to execute the SE from amazon? Im afraid they might take special notice for this case. Have you heard of anyone ever getting screwed by using an SE'd laptop?
