I'd beg to differ against this opinion. No, I'm not a salty weeaboo looking to defend my second culture, I just like defending anime.

While yes, you could consider hentai or anime as pedo-ish, and it's sort of true. Since the age of consent is so low in Japan, and most of these artists are based out of Japan, that's usually going to be the norm. One other thing is that most people don't consider this to be pedophilia because of the fact that they're non-existent drawings.

I think this really depends on what you are watching. I actually rather dislike seeing sexualised characters that are young. I can't say there are many shows I watch with a character like that in them. I agree that there is an over-saturated amount of this, but it would be wrong to claim that Anime itself is pedo-ish. Especially given the intentions of the artists who don't design characters that way.

I cannot comment on Hentai, as I don't go near it. I will say, I have seen it in several anime games. Not a fan of it.

I think that's a dumb notion, if I'm honest (Not for the same reason that you may assume. Do not sexualize the hat). I mostly subscribe to the fact that as long as it's drawn, your brain can distinctly divide fiction from reality. This is assuming said mind is sound, of course. For example: According to some studies, many women tend to have fantasies relating to nonconsensual situations. Call it mother's intuition, but I verily heartily believe these women would be extremely un-okay with actually being raped. The line between fantasy and reality cannot and should not be blurred due to the bevy of horrible things that can entail (See; violent video games means you're/makes you violent).

Plus, as mentioned, Japan has a weirdly low consent age, so that's par for the course there. Though I recall it still being pretty looked down upon going anywhere near that young. The law won't hang you, but the social stigma will.

Fairytale isn't a show I'd watch in a million years. If you're saying that after that's the only show you've seen, then you have no idea what anime is xD
