Anybody else who buys it will let it sit on their desk while they use it.  If that is the case, you might as well get a good desktop build set up.

Precisely my thoughts when I first viewed the video.

I'm about to call a supplier In my locality to see the availability of stock and of course, the price he's willing to negotiate. I'll be hitting a benchmark (3DMark) and shall post the results- It'll be very Interesting to see how It performs.

Looks like a portable desktop, almost. Even Alienwares aren't that thick. It does look quite awesome, though.

Agree (with the desktop appearance), particularly the keyboard.

Dell used to SLI config their cards but from what I heard, they were heating up excessively, hence they're only shipped with single cards. That would explain the somewhat slim-like appearance when comparing with the Predator here.

I had a Thinkpad Y510P with SLI. As you said, they heat up excessively. Laptops just don't have the airflow.

I purchased an Acer Predator today and cooling seems to be one of their main priorities. In the event you missed the Images on Discord, here they are.

This Is the rear of the unit. As you can see, almost the entire length Is taken by the dual cooling vents:

And In case It requires further cooling, It's comes shipped with a Cooling Module (fan-based) whereby the optical drive slides out with the press of a button, and the Cooling Module slides In It's place:

I haven't had the chance to run It with Intensive tasks, so when I do, I'll see just how effective the cooling Is.

It's more so suited as a desktop replacement.

The Predator I purchased (as per my post above), Is heavy enough. I couldn't Imagine carrying around the 21 X- even within the confines of my home.

Like everyone says, it's too much money for what it's used for.

However, I love the idea of a curved monitor on a laptop. That's a pretty sweet touch. The keypad thing is kinda useless imo but hey, some may like it.
I almost think a "collapse-able" or more easily disassembled/reassembled machine might make more sense. If you're going to carry that much weight, want the performance and the airflow, there's gotta be an alternative that makes more sense. I'd spend 9K trying to make that happen.

I'm a huge fan of laptops (that's all I run at home), and the Acer Predator In general Is a great looking lappy. I purchased 2 Predators just last week (15.6" & 17.3") with excellent graphics- the GTX 1060 & GTX 1070 cards respectively. Thus far I haven't any complaints. They're both very appealing and powerful units. On the bigger lappy, I had 4 VMs running simultaneously and other data-Intensive tasks, Inclusive of 40 tabs open In Firefox, and I didn't experience any drop In performance whatsoever.

That's pretty awesome! I only use laptops at the moment (two) but neither can run anything too intensive. It's enough for now. I probably would stick with laptops if it wasn't for that price tag for gaming machines. They're not so easy to clean/swap parts out with either, so I'm hoping to get Oni/Skullmeat to help me build my first custom desktop. However, I'd prefer never to be without a laptop, even with a desktop. I need that portability!

You're spot on with the cleaning of lappies.

On my older systems, I've given up on "trying" to keep them clean. I used to be very meticulous but given I have so many and the time taken to clean each one, It's simply not worth the effort. My Predators are Immaculate, however I'll see how long they last (clean) once the novelty wears off. You're also correct with the price of gaming laptops. I paid over 2.5k for one Predator and could've built a much more powerful desktop (nothing beats a custom-built desktop). But like yourself, I love portability.

That certainly is a very nice laptop, though a bit overpriced for me. I'll probably always be a desktop guy, instead of laptop, especially for gaming, but this sure as hell looks pretty well. Like the magnetic function as well for the trackpad/numpad.

Dual GTX 1080 in a laptop is kinda insane. I do wonder what the temps under heavy load are though, so if anyone has the laptop and can share that information with me, that'd be great.
