UberEats SE success stories #1
EDIT:  Claiming DNA on UberEats hurts the driver.  Also claiming the restaurant got the order wrong hurts the restaurant, so only claim "wrong order" on large chains.

In the past week my friends and I have secured over $400 worth of free food by claiming our orders never came.
The driver still gets to keep the tip and the base fare, and as far as Uber is concerned, some thief really did take the order before the real customer came out to pick it up.

We haven't run into any problems so far, except one time, where the driver took a picture of me as I was waking away with my hood up.
Had to dispute it with a customer support rep, but after escalating and asking to speak to their supervisor, they gave a full refund.

Some other friends of mine have had to confirm a PIN with the driver to make sure that they are the legit recipients, however, the driver has the ability to override and deliver it without receiving the pin.  The reason for this is if someone walks to pick it up without their phone or their phone died and they still need to get the food.

After looking on r/ubereats, I learned that the PIN is actually always the last 4 digits of the recipients phone number, BUT drivers don't typically know this either.

As it stands right now, I haven't been shown a PIN and I have no idea what triggers a given order to require a PIN on pickup.  In fact, the others that were met with the PIN screens after placing their orders had never falsely claimed their orders never came.  Completely clean accounts.

Does anyone have any insight on this or any stories of SE'ing Uber Eats?

ah yes sorry.  Every order we DNA'd it.  I just recently read the acronym page on socialengineers.net.  I'm still going though all the articles.

I have had success with hitting up CS and just saying that i received my order and all the food was completely wrong. Absolutely no evidence required and no risk to the delivery guy. You need to check your ethics when doing this though because alot of the takeaways on there are small independents. I SE the big guys like KFC, McDs etc and then use the refunded money to buy from from the smaller guys on legit orders.

Why would a small mom and pop shop take the fall after UBER has already paid them for the "incorrect" food order?

The problem Is, It may Impact the driver on a personal level which you'd certainly want to avoid.

Correct, I know people who do Uber Eats and other gig economy type work for a living and having their account banned would absolutely devastate them. Uber, Deliveroo and most other gig economy apps are notorious for terminating peoples accounts for minimal perceived wrongdoing.

Social engineering must never affect any Innocent Individual on a personal level.

The Uber employees have bills to pay and mouths to feed - just like you and I. Compromising their job for the greed of SEing food commodities, Is a low act of malicious deceit.

I see.  So the amount of money that UberEats pays the restaurant is partially determined by % of "correctly" bagged orders.  I will make sure not to claim wrong order on anything other than large chains.

I see.  I wrongfully assumed the benefit of the doubt would be given to the driver rather than the customer.  I will no longer DNA UberEats.
