USPS damaged goods bag for SE? #1
Hi everyone! I’m new to SEing, but I received this with an unrelated package that was damaged (all I got was the shipping label that was ripped off) so it had me thinking I could do this for any package that comes in from usps and claim they damaged it so I never received it? Is this possible? Thanks.

This is what I got:

They've raised a damage report prior to delivering the package.

If you didn't receive the "package", you obviously cannot claim It was damaged.

At times, photos are taken of the damage at the depot as well as the weight of the package - which they can refer to during an Investigation. But what happens to the package after It leaves the depot (on Its way to the buyer's address), Is a different story. Given It's already damaged, the goods could've been stolen before It was dropped off at Its destination.

Okay I understand. I thought it was worth a shot showing them the label in that bag stating usps damaged the parcel and I didn’t get what I ordered

Based on the circumstances below, you can certainly say the Item was missing.

My previous post Is solely referring to an Investigation opened, whereby the Item Is heavy enough to register a weight on consignment, and photos are taken of the minor damage - which they'll have evidence to conclude the Item was not missing at that point In time.

To solidify your claim without complicating It, the Item must be extremely light and the damage must be consistent with a theft-related Incident. As such, It could've been stolen at any point from when It was dispatched by the company, to when you received the package from the carrier driver.
