USPS Investigation?

Recently did a DNA on an item worth about $550. Amazon is sending out a replacement, but they opened a case with USPS and said USPS will be doing an investigation. Amazon rep told me not to tell them they’re sending a new one already. What should I expect with this investigation?

It’s a joystick, I would guess the box weighs 15 lbs

Also, you've edited your opening post. Did you Initially mention "EB"?

They left it, no signature required. Not sure what EB is

Empty Box/Missing Item.

That's why I was asking about the weight - I'm quite certain your opening post was EB (and not DNA) before It was edited. At any rate, It doesn't matter now.

I edited it to add in that Amazon told me not to tell usps they already sent a replacement

Interesting enough I got a call from usps today saying they did an investigation and told me it was delivered to my neighbors house and they are going to try to retrieve it.

Good, they have no Idea on the whereabouts of the package.

It was obviously delivered to your address, so good luck to USPS trying to retrieve It from your neighbor.
