Don't buy a USB killer, if you want one then build it.

I would say the same for the Rubber Ducky (as it is overpriced), but buying it is OK...

If you want to build a Rubber Ducky, you can use a (really) small Arduino to do so.

Another option is BadUSB, but I heard that you have to reset the pins every time you want to change what it does.

The first piece of tech I'm looking into is the infamous USB Killer 2.0, which does a hell of a job at frying practically anything with a USB port that isn't protected with an Optical Isolator (a cool technology that I recommend reading up on). Obviously, this is highly illegal, but it's not like that will stop anyone willing to spend £50 on it.

The second device is the tried and (mostly) true USB Rubber Ducky, which definitely wins for best name. The Rubber Ducky takes advantage of the implicit trust given to HID devices by most operating systems (Windows, Mac, most Linux distros, and Android included, making the Rubber Ducky cross-compatible), and acts as a keystroke injection tool, capable of typing faster than 1000 words per minute. It implements a scripting language called Ducky Script that looks very similar to Batch and is designed for ease-of-use, so it's super simple to pick up, even for script kiddies who've never coded a line in their life, unfortunately. At a more moderate price of  $45 US and with more functionality and versatility available, I personally think the Rubber Ducky is the way to go for the hacker who needs something to do.

Do not buy a rubber ducky. You do not need to spend $45+ for this functionality when less than $10 will you get twice the functionality. What do I mean?

You can buy an Arduino Pro Micro for $5 and a MicroSD card Shield for $1.50, and a USB to MicroUSB adapter which is like $2. The language is a bit more advanced, but it increases functionality quite a bit and you can even add a USBKiller directly onto the Arduino Micro, and trigger it whenever you'd want.

I definitely agree with this.

That said, the thing with a lot of users, Is that they simply want a ready-made tool/device and be done with It. I enjoy compiling, analyzing the Inner workings and putting things together. As a result, I'm less likely to purchase something that I can build for half the cost. By that's just me.

Just my opionion, you can accomplish many things with the USB Rubber Ducky. You can accomplish a simple party trick with the USB Killer. The novelty of breaking other peoples' things will disappear within days, whereas updating and playing with a tool that can give you access to an entire network is a pretty different story.

Enjoy

I mean, they just came out with the Bash Bunny not too long ago, it can be coded with ducky script as well. Whats better about the bunny is, it acts as a network interface. It is a full Debian based linux box as well, meaning apt-get anything you want. Plus, you can load 2 payloads instead of one, this is good for example, you wanna get as many shells as you can, well, you never know what you will be walking in to, could be the person has a windows machine, could be a mac user, well, load you a script for windows shell on switch one, and load you a mac shell on the other switch. Its only $100, but its really worth the money. I have had this urge that I really badly want one.
Check it out here!
