USB Hacking Tools - Inori - 12-31-2016 I'm looking at buying some hacking hardware, so I've done some research on what some of the devices available to consumers can do. The first piece of tech I'm looking into is the infamous USB Killer 2.0, which does a hell of a job at frying practically anything with a USB port that isn't protected with an Optical Isolator (a cool technology that I recommend reading up on). Obviously, this is highly illegal, but it's not like that will stop anyone willing to spend £50 on it. The second device is the tried and (mostly) true USB Rubber Ducky, which definitely wins for best name. The Rubber Ducky takes advantage of the implicit trust given to HID devices by most operating systems (Windows, Mac, most Linux distros, and Android included, making the Rubber Ducky cross-compatible), and acts as a keystroke injection tool, capable of typing faster than 1000 words per minute. It implements a scripting language called Ducky Script that looks very similar to Batch and is designed for ease-of-use, so it's super simple to pick up, even for script kiddies who've never coded a line in their life, unfortunately. At a more moderate price of $45 US and with more functionality and versatility available, I personally think the Rubber Ducky is the way to go for the hacker who needs something to do. RE: USB Hacking Tools - Pikami - 12-31-2016 I don't understand the point of the UsbKiller... It just kills hardware. Give me one example where this could be used practicaly RE: USB Hacking Tools - Inori - 12-31-2016 (12-31-2016, 10:28 PM)Pikami Wrote: I don't understand the point of the UsbKiller... I'd consider the USB Killer more of a proof of concept than anything; I never said it's super practical. RE: USB Hacking Tools - mothered - 01-01-2017 I know of the USB Rubber Ducky, It's certainly excellent In achieving It's objective. And very well priced too. I haven't looked Into the USB Killer as yet, but shall do so this afternoon. I like the Idea of frying one's system (those who deserve It of course). Thanks for this. RE: USB Hacking Tools - DarkMuse - 01-02-2017 Lol do not pay for a usb killer. You can literally make them out of any usb device and a disposable flash camera. I can give tuts if needed. Overvolt anything that quickly and it will go bang. |
