They probably will come to your house, simply don't open the door and let them think that the house is empty, they will call you on the phone, you can talk with them on there. Just tell them that you have not received the package, do not say more. If you're not confident, practice in the mirror for a few minutes with a test conversation.

One of my friends had this situation - same courier and also in the UK. The driver did not go back to the house etc.

Thank you, that is good to know. I think with Covid they would be less likely to come to the house.
