Good question. From the buyer side, I would say bots and automation are the hardest to outsource reliably. The build itself is only half the job — the other half is maintenance when an API changes or something breaks, and a lot of sellers disappear right after delivery. I have had better luck with people who include a support window after handoff instead of a one-and-done deal. Web development is easier to vet since you can review the code and there are simply more people doing it. With AI integrations it is still the wild west, so clear scoping and milestones matter more than the tech stack itself.
