Great tutorial, and quite easy to follow. I've used JtR in the past and it can be really effective. This will definitely help anyone who needs it.

Nice tutorial, You've actually taken time to write this. You could use crunch to add passwords which can be password that arent real words.

Hi, thanks for the tutorial. Is it possible to especify if you want to try also Uppercase and symbols like $@ ?
What's the maximum password lenght it's able to crack assuming you have 1 week?

It depends on the complexity.

If It's a 15 character length password, consisting of upper & lower case letters, numbers, special characters with no sequential combination, dedicate a few decades to crack It.

i have to agree with mothered,depending on how complex is the password there is no saying how many years will take to crack lol
