Jellyfin - The Free Software Media System

If you ever want to set up a media server, I highly recommend Jellyfin. Jellyfin can stream media to your Television or phone, via a desktop computer or network attached storage.

Jellyfin is an excellent software if you have a couple terabytes of movies and want to watch them on multiple devices. Unlike Plex, it's entirely free and open source. Linux, macOS, and Docker are also supported.

• Stream movies/shows from your desktop/NAS to a phone or TV.
  
• Original quality playback, without additional compression. Great for remuxes and lossless files.
  
• Auto-fetch metadata and cover art, using databases like TMDB.
  
• Netflix-like features, such as: "Next Up", "Continue Watching, and "Favorites".
  
• Excellent support, with apps for most mobile devices and smart TVs. (Google / Apple)
  
• Login system, with permissions, and ability to add multiple libraries/drives.
  
• Internet not required, can be operated via LAN. Remote-access is also possible.
