DOS is different than bash. Like, very different. Like, if I hit you with a book made of DOS source code and bash source code, one would likely kill you, one would not.

Er.. not to be an ass but Linux is a derivative of UNIX, not the other way around..
Mac/Darwin has no relation to Linux other than common ancestry.
