Continue. For that being your first thread design, it's pretty good. I think you should keep going and advance on.

Very nice but remove the purple/white lines. They only detract from an otherwise very respectable base design.

The design in itself is simple yet very appealing. Like CryptoX said, however, the pen-tool lines does not mix with the base. Keep at it!
