The Human Era 12-14-2016, 04:52 AM

Once again, Kurzgesagt has blown my fucking mind. I think the concept of basing our calendar off of when we started settling and developed agriculture, defining humanity as we know it, makes so much more sense than basing it off of the birth date of a man tied to a religion that not even close to everyone subscribes to, all while he might not have even existed. Thoughts?
It's often the outcasts, the iconoclasts ... those who have the least to lose because they
don't have much in the first place, who feel the new currents and ride them the farthest.

Frankly, you can thank the Roman's for messing up the modern calendar. It used to be based on planetary orbits and solar system before Caesar came along and f*ked everything up. Ever wonder why a girl can't keep track of her cycle ? Because the calendars are all wrong, but give your girl a lunar calendar and she can actually keep track of her shit properly. We were meant to use the natural cycle as our calendar, not some roman emperor dictator calendar. It doesn't matter WHEN the calendar began, it matters what CYCLE our calendar is connected to. We use meaningless arbitrary length month numbers, why ?
Do you even realise why your week days are named ?
Moon day, Mon Day
Mars (Tews) Tues Day,
Wodan's Day (Mercury) Day
Thors (Jupiter) Thurs Day
Friggs (Latin Venus) Fri Day
Saturn, Satur Day
Sun Day, Duh
It's time we fixed this roman calendar BS, do some research and ask yourself WHY things were changed from natural cycles in the first place.

Another very interesting video from Kurzgesagt! Always very interesting videos!
He has a very good point though, earth exists way longer than 2016 years and some people are even so stupid they actually think earth exists 2016 years --'
~~ Might be back? ~~

Speaking from a scientific point of view there's no reason this should not be done, but reality is that it won't happen mainly due to religious outcries and the fact that ignorant people will just state "Why bother fixing something that isn't broken".
