The Tor software protects you by bouncing your communications around a distributed network of relays run by volunteers all around the world: it prevents somebody watching your Internet connection from learning what sites you visit, it prevents the sites you visit from learning your physical location, and it lets you access sites which are blocked.
My IT skills that I know perfect is SQL, HTML ,css ,wordpress, PHP.
coding skills that I know is Java, JavaScript and C#

Then how do people still get caught on it? I read this somewhere...

(not necessarily how people get caught but)
I believe- correct me if I'm wrong- that your ISP can see that you are using tor, therefore whenever using to also use a VPN to hide your ISP and anyone else from knowing.

People are usually caught just by practicing bad OPSEC. A classic example is the one of the SilkRoad. Tor just provides a network to help bouncing and encrypting your regular internet browsing. But do not prevent you to use it  unproperly, It's not a single solution that solve all the problems with anonymity. You need to change your habits and your day to day practices to really be "anonymous".
As said above, the ISP can still see that you are using Tor by analyzing the traffic. There are a few known ways to leak your identity. Some examples could be: DNS leakage, Correlation attacks, etc
If you are interested to understand and use Tor much better you can have a look at some of those resources:

Is there any risk of using TOR? I'm just curious Smile

Exactly this.

Your ISP can see that you're connected to Tor, but cannot see anything beyond that- where you're navigating thereafter. Running a VPN alongside Tor will prevent your ISP from knowing you're on the Tor network.

Moved from the Lounge forum to here.
