Switching to Deepin #1
After giving it quite a bit of thought I am switching my OS to Deepin, it was that or Elementary. I want Everyday use in a linux distro but Ubuntu is killing me.
Not only are the adds in my fucking home button annoying as hell but wireless connectivity is broken as shit on 14.

Deepin looks super quick and beast. Anyone use it?

As I see its Ubuntu based.
I think if I was tired of Ubuntu and want something for everyday use (out of the box) I'd give OpenSUSE a shot.

Never heard of Deepin before though.
From a quick overview it seems like their website doesn't offer much information. Hadn't the time to check the wiki or forum,so..

Yeah Deepin is actually super good and I through it on for a bit last night.
Light usage, super qucik and pretty reliable but....... has no fucking encryption Tongue like what so ever so I got rid of it pretty quickly.
I will def give opensuse a shot.

I would give Antergos a go if I were you, last time I checked it comes with full disk encryption option in the installer.
The install should be fairly similar to that of Ubuntu too.

However the installer includes the option to have various different desktop environments such as
  • Base ( CLI based )
  • Cinnimon
  • Gnome
  • Xfce
  • Openbox

So in short it's a Ubuntu like OS just that it's based on ArchLinux instead of Debian.

An Ubuntu-like OS is also LinuxMint.
Some may call it "the better Ubuntu".

Have tried it once and didn't like, but don't remember for what reason lol.

I don't think that an Arch based OS is what he is looking for.
Don't get me wrong, I personally love Arch.
But I think he wants something which "simply works", and Arch is kind of tricky by time. (Rolling Release, Dependency-Hell etc...)

Unless you enable the unstable repo I don't see why not, and I haven't experienced issues with dependency on arch.
The installer should make all of that a strive.

I have used only a few linux distros, but I liked fedora most so far. It might not have quite the speed you might be looking for but on a decent rig you'll run it easily.
