It's basic human nature.

Well I guess people want more children because else you don't have that social upbringing that you would if you had a sibling.

Either way, we are screwed.
Overpopulation is already happening all over the globe.
"Doomsday" is in order :/
Sad Unless we find another planet to live on and some way to get there then yep. Or build large land mass over ocean areas?

I doubt we will inhabit another planet in the next 50 years.
And we are already building land masses over the ocean, but it takes a long time.

I'm sure if need be we could make the construction over land much faster.

Did you know that every human on Earth could fit inside Texas? And that's with the population density of NYC.
And did you know that there are hundreds of ways to feed the human race, but they're being pushed away because they aren't profitable?
Same with numerous alternative fuel sources, ie electric roads.

Food and space isn't a problem. Consumption of other natural resources isn't a problem.
Capitalism is the problem.

"Anti-aging" isn't exactly a difficult thing, in theory. That is, it's simply encouraging the continuation of a process that's already occurring in our bodies, which is the replacement of all living cells.

Our body is completely replaced every 5 years. By providing stimulation to the processes that continue this cycle, we could achieve immortality. (Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if it was as simple as bombarding ourselves with ultrasound. That shit cures fucking everything. Not based on any proof, exactly, just that it simply wouldn't shock me.)

The primary reason we don't do this is because of, like soooo many problems, capitalism. It doesn't benefit the pockets of the only people that fund such projects, so it's not going to happen any time soon.

Human greed is preventing immortality.

The whole population could fit into Texas although that would not be enough space to live in. Definately not. You need to stop watching so much vsauce Wink

With the population density of NYC. That's not that compounded.

The entire world could live even more comfortably in an area spaced similarly to a suburban area, and still fit in just the south-eastern United States.

There wouldn't be enough space for us to work in, nuff said.

Agreed there would be some sort of problems with space. Think about it they say someone dies every 3 minutes.... If they werent to die thats 20 extra people on the earth every hour.... Thats 480 people a day.... 3360 a week 174720 a year...

I never said that it HAD to be that dense. I'm just saying space isn't a problem in any way. If it can be compressed in such a small area, then better distribution can occur otherwise.

And besides, transportation wouldn't be a problem with properly invested technologies.

Ever hear of a "chord tunnel"? Basically, no matter where you are in the Earth, you can arrive at your destination in exactly 42 minutes by cutting through the earth in a frictionless tube. Currently the limitations with such things would be the energy to accelerate the shuttle, the energy and material to build it, and the distribution of thermal and kinetic energy in such a way so as to not bring harm to living things inside of it while in motion as well as when breaking.

Most of these can be solved by carbon nanotubes, and more specifically, "buckypaper", as well as fluid suspension.

These are existing things that would simply need to be repurposed.

I still don't see it happening anytime soon.

I never said soon, either.
But it's never too early to take the first step.

Let's say price isn't a matter since nanotubes hasn't been fully released yet.
You still forgot about 2 things, Temperature and pressure.
Also the core is iron, And the core has no gravity.
