Steam Deck Supereasy Pro Tip #1
Sharing this extreme pro tip with owners of Steam Deck. A few days ago I was feeling bored and felt like SEing Steam - not sure why, but their customer service is terrible so I decided to go after them. I opened a ticket claiming that my Steam Deck stopped working, whilst the battery section appears to be swollen. After a few exchanges they asked to see some photo evidence - which I photoshopped (easy peasy, duh). Waited for a couple of days and then boom! Rep gets back to me offering me a brand new Steam Deck. They asked me to safely dispose of my current device (sent them some really weird photos of me placing it in a plastic bag). The best part about this SE experience is that they posted a new Steam Deck yesterday via FedEx. I noticed that the device was posted from Washington, DC and it's arriving tomorrow by NOON! MAD! Anyway, feel free to use my advice and please don't forget to share your experience Biggrin

Good to know, thanks! Quick question, did you send them a pic of the back of the console and what tool in photoshop did you use to make it look naturally swollen? @impatient

Liquified the back of my Deck to show the "swollen" battery - they asked for 2-3 pictures from different angles. Since there is no repair centre in the UK, the only way to inspect the device was to send it to Netherlands. They dismissed their idea for safety reasons. Instead, they offered the new one!

Very nice SE, so theoretically you could buy one, perform the SE, then return the new one they send out to you and sell the old one. Do you think they will brick the old one ? Let us know if they do.

They can't brick It remotely.

You sure? How have you verified this ? Surely they can just add the serial number to a list and as soon as it tries to connect to Valves servers it is denied.

I'm not referring to blacklisting, but rather "bricking" It.

There's a big difference between the two.
