[mothered]

I am currently using this extension https://kproxy.com/. I read it's good.

I've used this quite a few times over the last 10 years or so, and It serves Its purpose well.

As far as I read Proxy do not encrypt your traffic, VPNs do.

They do encrypt traffic:

Many (but not all) proxies use encryption. This means that it will encrypt the traffic between you and the server.

A proxy server can change your IP address, so the web server doesn’t know exactly where you are in the world. It can encrypt your data, so your data is unreadable in transit. And lastly, a proxy server can block access to certain web pages, based on IP address.

KProxy Extension encrypts the connection between your browser to your target server, making impossible to steal your data

KProxy extension.

Yes I could use Tor but then I will probably not surf the internet. It's very slow.

It's certainly slower (not slow), but well worth using to significantly anonymize your connection.
