SEing 3rd party sellers can screw you over from personal experience. You're not dealing with Amazon but rather a person. A seller turned up to my address with 6 of his boys and started asking questions. Thought I was screwed but it was ok in the end. Note, it can be a hassle.

Surely if that's true then the seller has broken some kind of data protection law?

Assuming he hasn't hacked his computer or installed any malware in it or DDoS attack,
No rule has been broken as far as I'm concerned. Showing to the person's door without permission is indeed illegal, let alone asking questions and so.

If you can, I'd avoid 3rd parties. That's an individual you're screwing over :/
