Eh, I might make a group chat for Reality Forum. We have a Skype chat but it's for Staff only.

I like the idea of having an IRC chat. They're more interactive as you can add trivia bots and they have many more features. They're also less vulnerable. It's up to you guys, though. Skype is fun as well.

Hmm, an IRC isn't a bad idea.

I think RSBot had one of the most successful ones ever. Back when I was a mod in their myBB and vBulletin days, they had around 100 people in the IRC at any given time. It was always fun and energetic because of the numerous games you could play.

Edit: yes, it is not bad at all. :c: You should really consider it.
