Basically, I've been trying to close the smb port 445 because I don't need it open. I read that if I port forward an IP with said port it will make that port unusable and it supposedly will stop popping up in my port scan, but wont that give a black hat easier access to make a connection to my router and fuzz through it exposing other vulnerabilities if there are any...I'm beyond frustration I need a cigarette

Tbh I didn't want to port forward anything I just wanted the port to be closed or of no use, but I came to the realization if I do port forward and a bad guy comes across it they could use that useless connection to get into my router and run a mitm getting my information and becoming sir sharts a lot

I don't have an option to close the port I can write a rule that closes the port, but I don't know how to do that correctly. I've tried blocking all incoming connections with my firewall, but as we know that doesn't work unless doing something wrong idk what to do anymore.

Yes, I believe so tbh. In the rule I do see the ip as * set for 443 which I know is the SSL strip but I don't see anything for 445 it's quite frustrating maybe it's just the router setup?

When you closed the port, did you reboot the Router?
