RE: SEing JCPenney's #11
Ugh. So I found that they aren't responsible for DNA, so I decided to EB and say the watch box was all I got. Fucktard rep put it through as a DNA, had me wait 48 hours, then the system stonewalled me with a PR because the idiot entered DNA. Promptly filed chargeback, such a glaring error should make the claim easy to win.

Did you not correct the rep's mistake?

I did. They got rude and kept demanding the PR. Escalated twice to the same response.

To clarify on the first call they knew it was an EB. When I called back after the 48 hour "investigation" that's when I was told it was filed as a DNA and the system wants a PR. Completely out of my control.

^ It's at precisely that point that you should've corrected them about It not being a DNA, but rather an EB.

If they failed to understand something so simple, speak to another rep and point out their error. If need be, keep repeating It until It finally sinks In to their pea-brain

You could've taken control as per above.

Finally got my refund. I emailed the CEO email and got the same bullshit as a response. I told them I went into the police station, and they said that it was a civil matter, companies usually demand [police reports so they can fraudulently file shipping insurance claims for packing mistakes, and because of that, they don't do police reports for empty boxes anymore. Jcpenny said they would report the item stolen and check the CCTV. The item is not visible from the outside.

I got a voicemail today saying they reviewed the CCTV tapes and have decided to bypass the police report and "take the loss" and that a refund was processed. The refund hit my bank almost immediately.

Shouldn't have wasted a chargeback on this. Lesson learned.

what a roller coaster. thank you for your sacrifice in all this, it's good research in the end, but man, what an annoying process to get the refund! glad it worked out in the end, mostly.

Excellent to read the refund has cleared Into your account.

Well done with persevering with their BS from start to finish.

Not to worry.

Take the positive out of the negative - you're now aware of what to do under similar circumstances.

I've SE'd other companies in the past but I can't find any info on JCPenney's. Does anyone have experience SE'ing them; will DNA work for the watch?
