SE OLED Television #1
I want to SE an expenisve OLED TV, here is my plan:

-Get a used expensive, defective OLED TV from the big brands like Sony, LG, Phillips etc. (priced new at 1k-2k+).
-Order the same TV from a store that lets you return products easily even after opened (Amazon etc).
-Swap out the back panel wich includes serial number and all of the stickers.
-legitemately return the defective TV with the swapped back panel as 'defective'

Will this work or am I fantasizing too much?

Great plan. After unboxing the bought item hit the packaging box with something sharp so that it would be more believable. After doing so take pictures of the packaging, try making the photos look as if the package hasnt been unboxed yet.
Worst case scenario If the se fails you should force a chargeback . With the evidence that i suggested you to collect above it should be easy.

Are you saying I should make a visible cut into the package?

Is this an in person or mail SE?
I have never tried something like this but I would think it only has a chance in person.
Iv read target and best buy don't open in person returns.
Iv also read that amazon really checks for stuff like this now so maybe try another store if you are going by mail.
goodluck.

Probably an online SE.
I wonder, how exactly do they check for a swapped back panel?

If properly swapped, you should be good to go in most (defective item) instances.

Do keep in mind tho, serial numbers can often be found in software, or possibly cross-checked with internal hardware parts.
Seller probably wouldnt go this far, but keep that in mind, as it could be discovered when/if the manufacturer gets involved.

I don't remember were but I read that amazon does a 20-point inspection on all returns, maybe it would make it past but Iv read that computers that have had the parts swapped/removed get caught.
I don't think other stores do similar inspections.

It's a great plan, just keep in mind the inspection center at amazon can check the serial numbers by software, I don't think they go this far.
I will say that ur plan has a big chance of succeeding.

Yes. Make it look as if the package was damaged during shipment .
If its possable do a cheap se attemt on a store using the same method, for example se a gaming monitor for 100-200e

Any sotre recommendations for EU ?

I am hesitant with Amazon since someone mentioned that they check for back panel swaps specifically.
