So, it's still going on. Investigation was completed in my favor and they asked whether I wanted a refund or replacement. I choose refund, and had to fill in a form stating I did not receive the original item (affidavit). That was about a week ago. Now it's shifting from department to department, and I have no clue what's going on.
Is this standard procedure? Now its being handled by an department that only replies by email and I should get an reply in max. 48 hours.

@mothered Should I be getting nervous, or is this normal procedure?

Thanks!

That's great news.

How do you know It's going through one department to the next?

Are you receiving emails with different names and addresses?

What was the last response you received?

Don't worry about It.

To finalize paperwork and Issue refunds, It sometimes needs to go through a number of hands.

Someone from CS forgot my claim somewhere, and it is forwarded again by another CS employee. I've had mail contact with 3 different email adresses and multiple different people.
I'm getting a bit worried/nervous, as I also signed an affidavit and it is taking ages i.m.o. I just read your blog, stating you definitely don't recommend signing anything on paper as it makes it legally binding.
What do you recommend me to do? It is Amazon, so perhaps I'm safe, but do you recommend me to return the item normally (stating it was found or something), take the loss and perhaps try another shop?

It's taking a while to process for the reason stated above - they've misplaced/mismanaged your claim.

Just wait for their response.

If there's reason to be concerned, tackle It there and then.

How does it end @DocVH ?
Edit: Nevermind, I just read 02-01 as January 2nd instead of February 1st. You probably just waiting. Keep us updated.

I have called them a few times, it's not finished yet. Will post an update when it's completed.

So I've ordered an iPhone 13 Pro Max from Amazon (NL), and it arrived yesterday.
The delivery guy put it in a mailbox instead of personally delivering the item to me (no signature etc).
I think this is the ideal DNA as I do live in a large appartment complex, where all mailboxes are at 1 place, so it's easy to make a mistake.

What's the best way to proceed? Should I wait a couple of days? Does that make a difference, or just  go for it?
Does it matter that Amazon's own delivery guys did deliver the package, not DHL or DPD f.e.?

Was thinking about sending Amazon a message trough live chat, acting very frustrated (but keeping in mind that they can read before I press send) and claiming the package has the status arrived, delivered in mailbox, while my mailbox is empty (also act very frustrated why they'd want to put a €1.000,-+ item in a mailbox in the first place). They can start an investigation I believe, but then prove what? There are like 40 mailboxes at 1 place, right?

Am I looking at the right direction here?
Thanks in advance!

In the country here, all iphones are carrier locked. I am not sure how it is over there but is this a concern of yours? Will you just unlock via jailbreak etc?

Nah, no such things here. All phones are factory unlocked. No such things as AT&T or Verizon models here luckily!
