Stating the obvious, Is the DNA method suitable for you?

That's fine, no problem whatsoever. We all start somewhere.

Of all methods, the DNA has the highest possibility of triggering an Investigation - which can be somewhat frustrating and rather lengthy, particularly for high value Items.

If you're not confident with It, opt for something else. You have the wrong Item received method and If the packaging Is suited, the sealed box method.

The wrong Item received method works by purchasing a stock Item of theirs of equal weight on a different account, and claiming you received that Instead of the MacBook. When they scan the return, they'll see It's part of their Inventory and assume that they did send the Incorrect Item and credit your account thereafter.

Now Apple (at times) make a "one time exception" per account, meaning they'll replace the unit without asking to return It. In this case, the leaking battery method will work but my only concern, Is the cost of your MacBook. The higher the Item value, the less flexible your claim will be.
