An excellent recommendation coming from a brilliant artist.

Although the designers at my work use Adobe products, one actually has ClipStudio Installed and she uses It for a few bits and pieces that Adobe cannot accommodate. She actually speaks very highly of It.

Thank you very much!

Generally speaking, Adobe products are "better". But there are differences in functions that sometimes make one more useful for a given task. It's nice to hear others enjoy it as much as I do. I particularly line the Linework functions on it - Otherwise called Vector layers. Though, I wouldn't recommend ClipStudio for vector work.

You'll want a Windows laptop with potential for dual booting for sure. Wouldn't recommend a Chromebook or MacBook for your use case (As far as I've seen, both are horrible in academia for when you need proprietary software). The XPS line would suit your needs for sure, although to get into your budget range you'd need to shop used.

Adobe Is certainly a professional software.

My work supplies to major apparel/clothing retailers, so their designs must be flawless. They use (obviously) Photoshop and Illustrator.

If you can get into vector work and the more graphics design methods of working, it's a hugely transferable skill.

To be truthful, I'm terrible at GFX. If there was an award for the worst designer, I'd qualify without a shadow of a doubt.

It may well be that I haven't taken an In depth approach Into creating designs. I've read your recommendations throughout various posts, and appreciate each and every one.

Creative work definitely takes some learning and wrapping your head round it. Luckily, I was blessed with creative tendencies from a young age - Now I must learn how to use the software and tools to make my work a reality.

I've had an excellent experience with both Lenovo and ASUS. Avoid Alienware at all costs. If you wait until Black Friday, most companies will have some pretty sick deals.

I've actually had a bad experience with the good old Dell Inspiron 510m, back In 2004.

There was a very good deal at the time, hence I purchased three laptops of this model and each one died within 2 years. I'm not sure whether Dell products have Improved since then, but I'm not willing to take the risk.

Guys, an opinion.

1700€ with 4 years warranty. I checked some benckmark about the processor and it seems good.
Do you think I could aim for something better given the price? Perhaps with Dell, Asus, Acer, Hp..

Thank you for your time.
