So anyone here managed to get their hands on a RPi Zero? I plan on getting one when they're available but so far they're sold out everywhere!

For those who don't know, RPI Zero is a full functioning pc that only costs $5 and is smaller than your thumb.

Nope but I did pre-order something else. A device called "C.H.I.P." If you are interested in small computers that can do great things, that's something you should look into to. It is not out yet, but developers and kernel hackers are buys with creating the device for optimal use.

It costs 9$ and the goal of the company is to make a computer that is affordable for everyone (even in the poorest countries).

Thank you, I've seen CHIP before, I plan on making more of the whole RPI thing at the moment because I already have one so why not get him a little friend eh?

I always loved small pc's. I think you can better have multiple systems than one system running multiple OS' or programs. I like to have different PC's for different tasks and if the tasks are small computers like that are perfect.

Definitely, I was thinking how cool it would be to have multiple screens, multiple PI's and to have a single USB device that connected to all of them and with a flick of a switch or press of a button on the keyboard would change to a different Pi to work in, would be interesting at least.

I don't even think that would be so hard, it can be pretty easily achieved with some basic coding I think and than you would have for each task a different, clean system. If one system crashes, remove it and replace it with another. Of course security would play a big role since if you want to connect all devices together and one would be infected they all could be infected in minutes.

Yeah but that would only happen if they synced files and not just ran independently yet were accessible as a group? I plan on getting a few Pi's running next summer, the main problem will be plugging in all the ethernet cables as my router only supports 4-5 at the moment.
