Question about business stuff #1
So, I have a couple employees working for me, and I haven't yet figured out a good way for them to track their time. Up to this point, I've been working with them, so their time is the same as mine. I have a sheet that I use to track my billing to a specific client that I think works well for me, but I want some input. See image below. This is my actual time sheet for this period, with real data, so tell me in your honest opinion what you think. Lines in purple are things that another employee has done, once I settle on a good billing platform I won't be putting those lines into my sheet anymore.

Is there anything I need to add?
calcs im not doing?
is it easy to use in your opinion?

EDIT: note, my tax rate is 0%, because I'm a business and I don't pay taxes on each check, other employees will have a nonzero number there. For some, this can be variable.

I've been trying harvest. Easy to use, can have your employees handle their own times. http://help.getharvest.com/harvest/manag...g-clients/

I see you're billing reading emails, which I'm assuming is only from emails from the client?

I would make it to where they have to log into a company site to obtain task. The timer only runs while a certain program is open so you don't get tricked lol

Also put a idle limit on it so if they just start the shit and walk away it doesn't add up hours.

I'll check it out.

Email time for me is only billable if the communications are with the clients, but its not the same for employees. I have to pay them for any and all time they work.

We use MS team services to manage who does what task, and this is just a basic excel sheet, they do the work and then bill the time. For the most part, that time gets passed on to the client.
