Purge the inactive members #1
All of the members who were inactive for a year or more should be purged unless there accounts have significant posts, are upgraded or otherwise stated as they will be away for x amount of time using the Away Information option in the profile.

I mean come on get real 31,500 members registered. when there is only a few hundred active.

May seem harsh but lets be real they are dead accounts, nobody uses them, there are user names new members might want, they waste space/resources and if you look at the amount of posts vs the amount of members it actually makes Sinisterly look inactive and like they are generated members.

I would at least try lowering it down to a couple thousand, Sinisterly needs to let go of the past and focus on the future with its active and new members.

Of course this is just my opinion but its realistic.

RE: Purge the inactive members #2
I suggested that upgraded members should have the ability to reset inactive usernames that have been inactive for years in some other thread.

Purging:
Removing inactive members from the community completely

Merging:
Combining multiple accounts of the same user into 1

How would it make merging useless? I don't see how.

I approve of this suggestion and I'm even a new user and understand the benefits to this.

RE: Purge the inactive members #6
I've been waiting for the next pleb purge for a number of months, I support this.

As for inactive usernames, I believe you can just request a staff to make it available.
It's often the outcasts, the iconoclasts ... those who have the least to lose because they
don't have much in the first place, who feel the new currents and ride them the farthest.

You do realize people care about stats? The whole point of Oni buying forums in so to increase those statistics and maybe getting a few members to join the forum. This suggestion is still stupid.

This suggestion is realistic, not stupid.

If people care about false stats then so be it.

Might as well merge the HF database into sinister.li just for the stats right?, instead of showing real progress made by active members, but rather show the progress of people who will never log back into sinister.li since there original forums were merged and closed down.

Lol explain to me how this benefits the site in anyway.

The original post explains everything and lists some of the benefits in it but if the suggestion were to go through here are some of the benefits.

1. Less resources used which results in faster speeds, a cleaner experience and more resources that can be used by active members.

2. Cleaner user base, not full of inactive people making the site look bigger then it is.

4. Free's up user names that new members may want.

5. Shows the true progress of the community instead of progress that was made on other forums that were merged.

6. Less possible new members turned away because the second they look at the members to posts ratio it makes the place look inactive.

In the long run this is better for the community, you may not see it now because of course that will be a lot of inactive members removed but in the end don't you think it would be nice to look at Sinisterly 5 or so years from now and see how much it has grown from now to then and say wow I helped grow that community and it has a big part of me in it.
