If you say you've received the wrong product, they'll obviously request the return of that product- being "their" stock Item. That's an Instant failure.
On the grounds the delivery point Is your residential address, the objective Is to not be present when the Item Is delivered, hence no signature on receipt. If you haven't nominated an alternative drop-off point, the carrier will then leave a calling card Indicating where the Item can be collected. Based on this and your locality, where Is your collection point? Local post office?
Usually in the US they leave a card saying they will try again another time. In my experience, they won't release without a signature at any point.
I can easily check this via a VPN connected to the US, but I'd rather ask yourself.
In your locality, when placing an order In Amazon's checkout page, Is there a "no special preference" option whereby If you're not home to accept delivery, a calling card Is left with an alternative collection point?

You should do more than just creep around. Contribute to the forum, even if it's just SE/theft threads

Whichever delivery company is being used will usually leave a note saying no one was present to sign for the package and that they will try to make the delivery the next day or your allowed to pick up the package at one of their location. For high value items, Amazon is requiring a signature. This is straight from their checkout page before you place the order, 'Due to the value of this item, a signature is required at delivery to protect you from loss or theft.' So the 'my package is missing' wont work.

So "their" location would be an Amazon Locker correct?
Also (depending on locality) If I'm not mistaken, I believe there Is a "Local Collect" option whereby rather than your residential address, you can nominate a local post office as the delivery and collection point.

I never sign for packages that are delivered to my house. They legit leave it on my front patio every single time. Doesn't matter if it's fedex / ups / DHL / USPS etc. Never once have I been required to sign or be present lol
