Did a DNA with a company, they asked if it was my door and I said yeah

They replied saying they have to assume its stolen, if I can confirm I have reported this to the police and they will need a crime reference number

I don't want to file a police report, can I tell the company the police said it's not a police matter or say that they said the company is liable? (amazon told me this a few years ago when I did DNA, when I filed PR they told me it's not a police matter etc)

well since there is a picture and they are asking for a PR to move forward thats pretty much all you can do right now. You can make the PR online and try withdrawing from it the next day.

edit: only way of getting out of a PR is if there is no evidence that the package was delivered to you. That being your signature and or Picture. I know this because I have gotten out of it before.

could I just go back and deny the door being mine or would it be too suspicious ? my house is blurred out on google maps along with a couple other houses so theres no proof unless they come to my address

That is up to you to decide. Yes it would be suspicious to go back and deny it is your door. And best to not use that shipping company for a month to let things cool down.

If you're in the UK, you can try tell them it's not a police matter as the package was never in your possession. It's still their property and you won't be forced to file a false police report on their behalf for a lost package. It's their job to work it out with the shipping company. By law, you don't have to file a report although some companies will happily break the law and not refund you until you do a police report.

Take note if you do that it is suspicious. When doing an SE you have to keep your story straight at all times.
