I personally never had a Windows Phone but had the Windows Launcher on my Android and the layout was simply just not for me.

I run Android 4.4.4 with Smart Launcher

To be honest I like the the start screen. The degree to which you can personalize it is great. It just sucks that some apps like snapchat aren't available for windows phone

I don't got many apps on my phone just:

KIK
ALL-IN ONE TOOLBOX
HD AUDIO RECORDER PRO
IMGUR
PANDORA
RINGDROID
TRACK ID

So app availability is not much of a big deal for me, but for a lot of smart phone users it is. I have used snapchat before I prefer kik over it.
