Are you really going to use up all the resources and realistically speaking why should I care about the specs if the OS has been optimized with the hardware it comes with?
Unlike Android phones which run on all kinds of different hardware causing performance issues, it's a memory hog and terribly made in general. I also own an S6 Edge and still experience occasional lags but I haven't exactly noticed myself using up all of the 1GB ram on my iPhone nor has anything ran slow while both have their own pros/cons.

I could use most of the resources, to be honest. Just an FPS game and a few things in the background can do that. Given that my phone will have 3gb of RAM, that's less likely, though.

No lie this is the first intelligent argument I've ever seen coming from an iPhone user. Although the hardware has been optimized for software you can still find phones that will out-perform any iPhone. I have used every iPhone which has been released and I even owned the iPhone 4 back when the 4s was released and I've got to say, I hate them. Personally, they seen to lag behind for me. I'm quite a power user so I often find myself waiting on the phone to respond to me, not to mention the rediculous restrictions of features.

Android is the one for me, just because they're no where near as restricted as iPhones. My current Android phone is shit (HTC Desire 510)and I'd take an iPhone 6 at this point haha. I got the HTC One M7 when it first came out and I loved the phone. The iPhone 5 never even came close to outperforming the One.

I'm debating on either buying the Elephone P8000 or the HTC One M9 next. Massive difference in price but I'm quite faithful to HTC. The Elephone is really really nice though and that's at #1 right now for me.

Personally, I had multiple iPhones in the past (before you could even have a background). I jailbroke/unlocked my phones, but I got very tired of Apple's shenanigans (after I accidentally updated and killed my unlock). My first Android phone was the Motorola Milestone (which had awful specs). I'm personally pretty happy I can get an Android phone with 3gb RAM. When I had an iPhone, there were definitely more restrictions as to what I could do with my phone. I know Apple made improvements, but Android is made for power users. I've also run into almost no issues rooting/unlocking devices.

By optimized software for the hardware or vice versa I meant that you can install something and you'd know that it'd run great without any issues because they all run and are developed on the same hardware. Basically a JustWorks™ phone.

I'm not one to hate on the kind of phones people use or what they like either, it completely depends on your needs. If you want customization then android is definitely the way to go.

The looks/design can be customized, which is better.

Being able to change colors is kinda meh, what about material? Aluminum feels so much better to hold than plastic.

My Moto X Pure will be leather, glass, and metal. I had an HTC One M8 before, as well (which was too much metal).

I'm not saying that looks matter. It certainly doesn't effect my choice when deciding a phone. For example, I wouldn't turn down the best performing phone just because it looks like a pile of shit (like the 3G). However, if there were 2 phones that performed the same, I would then go on looks of the phone.

I Personally think there are quite a few phone styles which can beat the iPhone 6. The S6 Edge or the One M9 are in my top list.

I switched to an HTC One M9 just over a week ago, and so far, I like it better than my S4. I do have a few gripes about it, the speakers still aren't as nice as I'd like, and the screen Isn't nearly as nice as my S4's was. However, it seems to be much more stable as far as software is concerned.
