Well, it's not even a FTID here
Just send a random postcard/letter to a nearby address, in a legit way, and use that tracking as proof of your return, Paypal has no way to check who's the recipient, at most they'll know which delivery center last processed it so it has to be in the same area as the real return address, and that's it

If you're not replacing the CPU with anything, you certainly can use that approach.

Wouldn't PayPal liaise with the company and request the tracking details demonstrating the consignor & consignee?

If the company responds to PayPal disputes/claims, they'll forward all details to PayPal for further assessment, Inclusive of tracking Information - which will confirm the sender & receiver.

As such, sending an envelope to an address close by Is useless. It obviously didn't reach the correct destination to mark It successfully delivered.

As far as I know, the tracking doesn't show the address most of the times (not sure about ALL couriers), just the last warehouse that's gonna take the parcel out of delivery
Also, if you send an empty box, it's quite the same as what I said before, PP just checked the tracking as delivered and issues the refund, they never really investigate further, to my knowledge
