Also make sure that all breakable items (picture frames, glass tables, etc.) are safely tucked away. Learned that the hard way, I had to replace a glass coffee table some idiot fell on. Hit my wallet pretty hard.

K, so.
Shit will break, it just will. Drunk people are not careful. If you can't afford that, don't throw a house party.
Remember, you are liable for everyone there. Just like if you were a bar, if someone leaves your place drunk and dies, either from poisoning or a DUI or some shit, you will get sued.
To that end, clearly define AND ENFORCE rules. No hard drugs, no sex in the house, and if you throw up you're going home.

Thanks for all the tips, guys.
The party got shut down. Not by the police or people in my neighborhood though. One of my friends found me after I had passed out in the bathroom, and got some people to help them get everyone out of the house, and clean up mostly everything (I just mopped the laminate).
