PS3 jailbreaking

In 2012, I bought a PS3 and hardly ever used it. It hasn't been updated in a while, maybe late 2014, and I was wondering if I could somehow jailbreak it (has there been any developments in that section recently?)
Are there any new PS3 "jailbreaks" so to speak?

Has you're version been lower than 3.65? At anytime? If you don't know i can link you a version checker.

I'm not sure, as I have a receipt here for the PS3 bundle in November 2011. 3.65 came out in June 2011.

Then you have to downgrade with an e3flasher. You can buy it of Amazon or modchip sites. Do you want a link to the version checker?

If the console is or has been on 3.55 then the NOR chip is flashable and you can flash custom firmware onto it.
If it's currently on 3.55 you can install a cfw off the bat, like kmeaw's 3.55. Then toggle QA and upgrade to a Rebug or other CFW.

Otherwise flash the NOR, downgrade with rogero's downgrader then toggle QA + install a later cfw.

Your ps3 needs to be on 3.55 or lower.
