PRO Boxing Tip #1
I contacted Citizens Advice to see out of curiosity what are my legal rights in case I do boxing and the company refuses to honor the warranty. This was their reply

Your rights and obligations
You can attempt to argue that the company has a common law duty of care to look after the package and if they have failed in that duty of care, you might be able to pursue the trader for damages as a result of that loss.
The burden of proof is upon you to show that the company had the product in their care and they had failed to keep it safe.

Your next steps
We suggest formalizing your complaint in writing by using ‘signed for’ mail. We suggest ‘signed for’ mail as this way you can prove the trader received it. Outline what you are pursuing and request a response within a reasonable amount of time. The timescale is up to you to decide.

You can easilly use that argument in case they notify you that the package was empty a few days after they have already received the package.

This Is the main focus of what's expected from you, the consumer:
Quote:The burden of proof Is upon you to show that the company had the product In their care and they had failed to keep It safe

You must prove beyond reasonable doubt, that the above Is true and correct. If not, your rights and obligations are nullified.

Of course you are not going to take the case to court. You can use that to put pressure on the company you are boxing.
I used that argument successfully in a recent SE.

I certainly agree.

My post Is based on the worst-case scenario of pursuing litigation. The majority of organizations back out, simply because It's not worth their time and resources, particularly low-value Items.
