I've been wanting to build a hive for some time out of Obsidian.
If I ever get on I'd probably just work on making a Netherbrick hive then make an Obsidian generator and coat it in the stuff.

I've been thinking of doing similar. I'd do it on the mountain overlooking Oni & Jigglys house. I would make it my evil headquarters, complete with a TNT cannon aimed at Oni's house. (Only for display, yet still functional)
