Under the circumstances, It's of no surprise the DNA works more often than not.

They've basically DNA'd themselves.

About to try it out on some cologne and maybe a jacket, wish me luck.

Do note that the OP hasn't been active for over a year, so don't expect a reply anytime soon, If ever.

seeing a lot of mixed rates for nordstrom. People on reddit say they hit, others on here say they have failed.

It seems to be very "case by case" with Nordstrom, and almost seems like it's purely up to luck - I have never been denied a refund from Nordstrom using DNA, and I have refunded 10 separate orders with them successfully, all in the pretty high dollar range - minimum $800, maximum close to $2k.
But I've seen people in groups I'm in fail on $300/single item.

On one hand, I could attribute this to the fact that I have a good amount of experience refunding, handle myself professionally in a live chat, etc. but I don't know what the other people are saying that causes them to fail, so I don't want to pretend it's because I'm doing anything "right" while others are doing something "wrong." It really could just be luck.

I will say, I've successfully refunded Nordstrom orders sent via OnTrac, USPS, FedEx, and UPS - and have DNA'd multiple items shipped via separate carrier all in the same order - so I don't believe that the outcome is necessarily tied to what carrier you get. Seems like it has to be other factors.

I would say it's worth trying - they have a great return policy, so you've got time to press them if at first you fail. I personally have had great success refunding them, and hopefully will continue to do so, and I hope the same for you!

Congrats.

Yet another prime example to not take "no" for an answer under any circumstances.
