Thanks for the reply.

I'm very eager to read the outcome, so I've bookmarked this thread.

You're correct. And I'm fine with 1080p 60 FPS because I never really invest in better monitors or multiple monitors.

Hopefully GTX 1080 prices continue to drop. That would probably be a viable upgrade some time next year or around the end of this year.

One thing I couldn't recommend more is when you buy an upgrade, buy one that will last, yes the 1080 is roughly 30% better than the 1070 but I'm sure you can live with the 1070 for another 1-2 years, and have 400 ish saved up for something performing 100% to 150% better

Yeah... I confirmed my suspicious. The RAM is dead. Gonna get some new stuff at some point.

We both thought as much.

I'd personally opt for 16 GB at the minimum, preferably 32 GB, but that's based on my computing environment.

I finally have the RAM issue sorted out. Now I have 32GB of RAM.

I uploaded the pictures in my original post.

Very good to read.

You'll be very happy with 32GB, I certainly am. This Is my laptop with 2 VMs and other tasks/applications running.

I'm thinking about Installing another 2x16GB sticks.

I most certainly am. I haven't had a single hitch so far. I have the kit running at 3333Mhz with a few changes to the latency parameters, which is a slight bump over the stock 3200Mhz. So far I don't yet have a reason to push the sticks any harder than that.

No, not yet. In the future I will though. But right now I think it's a better bet to wait until I can actually get a 30 series GPU at MSRP.

Would 100% wait. I know people that were impatient and paid a couple hundred extra just to get them early.
