My bunker idea #1
I been wanting to build a bunker so I came up with this setup with paint. Its not pretty but I think it would be a very stout setup.

I would prefer it to be at minimum 10 feet below the ground. So that means from the roof of the container to the surface would be 10 feet.

Most containers would be 40ft with the exception of 1 10ft container and 2 20ft containers.

The containers would be reinforced with steel beams, The exterior would be coated with rust resistant paint and then have a rubber coating put on.

It would have a air filtration system capable of removing even nuclear fallout with a hand crank back up in case of an electrical failure.

It would cost me about $14,000 in containers. Probably $5,000 or more to get the hole dug for them. Probably about $3-4,000 for reinforcing it. $3,000 in cement.

But in the end it would be bomb proof, impossible to penetrate or break into and also cool as hell.

That would be really flipping awesome. Would you have any renewable energy? Like any solar panels or hydro from a river?

Solar power, generators. Building it by a river could be a problem because it could be sitting in water digging down that far.

You should make it hidden, so no solar panels. You'd have to use a form of electrical generation that has no gas pollution because then you'd need to get rid of the fumes. Nuclear?

There really is no other forms other then Solar, Wind, Water, Grid and Generators.

Even the US government in places like Cheyenne Mountain, Mount Weather, Raven Rock, and other facilities use diesel generators, I bet they use solar too.

Geothermal or hydro(via underground river?). Only useful thing I learned from Geography.
It's often the outcasts, the iconoclasts ... those who have the least to lose because they
don't have much in the first place, who feel the new currents and ride them the farthest.

acoully it has to be an indoor generator, anything outside/nature based can be harmed...
nice plan wish i had the cash for it too

Nuclear would work, but it's just a tad too expensive.

It'd have to be placed specifically near a geothermal vent, and it'd be very expensive to harness the energy. With something like nuclear, you only need a small amount of fuel and you get a very large amount of energy.

I feel like a renewable source of energy would benefit in the long term. Sure, nuclear won't run out fast, but when you run out of uranium, you're kind of screwed.

Trust me... You ain't gonna live that long... Nowhere near that long.

I mean, you'll never have to ever worry about nuclear running out.
