I saw this before it's awesome. I saw that the state of Nevada has been trying to tax them for years and they refuse. I wonder what makes a person do that? haha, pretty funny though. there are a bunch in the United States, I read somewhere that after the civil war ended a bunch started and dissolved quickly in the south.

I'm going to stray from the crowd here and say that I think this is kind of strange..
But at the same time I guess it's pretty cool, starting your own country. That actually sounds kind of awesome now that I think about it.

I've heard of it and there are plenty of places like this.

The most famous one is a place called Sealand, which is on an abandoned platform in the middle of the ocean. They have their own flag, currency, stamps, monarchy and even a football (soccer) team!
