It just came to me. Some companies ship their stuff with nothing but the original box with no other package so the wrong item method would be kind of problematic. Shame, I,ll maybe have to return the damn thing....

How did you manage to succeed with an Item of significant weight?

They did not bother to check the weight. I said it was opened during transit.

That's rare for an Item of that value.

Try the same with this SE. As far as you're concerned, the driver (or anyone) could've taken It just prior to the delivery point- your house. Just because the weight was consistent with the Item during transit, It doesn't mean It arrived In the same state.

This Is on the grounds, that the driver did not scan It the moment It was dropped off. DHL are known to do this with almost every delivery.

The laptop is in a postal office so I have to show Id to get package.

Worst case scenario I use the s/n and say the battery caught fire or started leaking. or something and I had to dispose of the whole thing and ask for a replacement. After I return the laptop ofcourse.

I dont know if companies video tape high value items before package and shipping them. This company is one of the bigger one in my country. Anyone heard something similar?

A small update. I got some inside information about the warehouse where they pack every order. Everything is being monitored by cameras. So my original idea by using wrong item received is not worth the risk. So I really don’t know what to do with this one. Maybe take some pictures of the s/n and ship the damn thing back.
