Started an Empty Box SE on the 13th, I did exactly what a lot of people here have done with success: claimed EB, send pictures of empty brown box, didn't turn the device on
I waited for 2 weeks and got this e-mail today:
"Hello name,
Thank you for giving us time to complete our review.
Our team has been doing an in-depth investigation into this matter and we’ve been unable to find any potential concerns linking back to the courier.
During our investigation, we’ve also discovered a lot of deliveries being reported as missing or opened from prior orders that were placed from your area.
While we won’t be able to issue a refund or replacement for this claim, this is a serious issue that needs to be handled by your local authorities. Please contact them as soon as possible to open a case.
If they would like to get in touch with Meta Store Support to work with our security team, please have them contact us through their official government email.
Thank you for your understanding,"
It sounds like a fail or them asking for a PR, but I can't do it because I'm currently travelling and I already filed one for another SE recently. As I'm not home I can't even return it. Think I got any options here or it's a definitive fail?
I had this issue a few months ago, I simply filed a chargeback through my bank and won it, as far as I am aware they never disputed it. That is why you can do the same with PayPal, they do not contest disputes (never used to, unsure fully if they do now or not)
So if I were you, I would just file a chargeback through your payment method

I managed to get a refund but had to do a lil extra because I had a bad presentiment.
Be aware that this does not confirm that the method still works.

Prior the end of the investigation, past 7 days (no refusal yet), I contacted them via mail :
0/ tell any behavior that indirectly shows that you really did not get the item, to add some credibility and to force a non-generic reply
1/ ask for an update on the investigation
2/ say any excuse to tell that you used money to have another device bc you trust their words
3/ be as polite as possible
You will likely deal with agents who fall for the same SE once. So please, add some original statement into it if you don't want it to fail.

I may have to do that for a DNA. And they don't deactivate it?
Nope, no deactivation as far as I am aware, I have sold mine on Facebook Marketplace under false credentials but I regularly sell on the fake account and nobody I have sold them to has got back in touch.
