Didn't know where to post so why not here, :-)!
Anyways, I want to create a website and need ideas. I'm thinking about going for something like "skypegrab . net" but not sure.
Any ideas? Make sure it'll get a decent amount of visitors each day.

Everyone can post their thoughts, but the question remains, will you have the capacity to fulfill them?
In other words, I don't know what you are/are not capable of. For example, I could suggest an email bomber website that generates messages directly to the Inbox of all major email providers- all with attachment support and guaranteed transmissions. Whether you can create a site of this nature and provide all requirements, remains to be seen.

How about a site that hosts a sort of IRC? Maybe specific to sinister.li?

Don't overthink it. Everything has been done already. If you think you're going to be the first person to do $X thing, you're wrong. Make something you are passionate about, and will enjoy maintaining into the future.

Trying to monetize it, or are you just making a website because you know how to get cheap domains or just want to get some experience?

I'm pretty sure there're many websites out there like that, if you're going to do something like it then put something different on the website.

It sounds like you are trying to lure people as oppose to creating a service. Are you thinking a [HONEY POT] of some sort are you trying to hook your traffic? In you post that was the only thing I got other than that you have a long way to go before you create a website you must have a plan and be willing to put in long hours to make it work hosting, security, what software will you use all play a factor but you must have an idea before those things can even be a factor.
Knowledge is free..
Retaining that Knowledge takes work..
