Hey guys, I'm trying to SE a g29 racing wheel, and they're asking me to send it back, obviously, I do not have a racing wheel. I need a good excuse for me to not send it back, I was thinking about telling him I'm on vacation? Or is that too popular? Any suggestions would be helpful.

Another option is to act like you are complying. Ask them "How long does it usually take for you to process this? In 2 weeks I am leaving the country for a mission in Afganistan (or Syria or something) for 6 months and I need to get this sorted out before I leave, as I am not allowed to accept any deliveries at the base. You think you will be able to process the RMA and have it delivered by then if I send it tomorrow?"
If you are lucky and the warranty is expiring after 6 months you can use that to your advantage. "I was planning to wait until after I came back from the mission, but I realised that my warranty is about to expire, so I can't do that unfortunately"
Or something similar.
Optionally add: "Hopefully, I'll make it back alive to test the wheel in 6 months"
Or "If I don't make it back alive, tell them to burry the wheel with me. As it will still be dead.... like me... cause you didn't replace it. The country thanks you for that" lol
They will probably reply you after a few days, in which case they will be under pressure to send it. If they still insist, tell them that they wasted valuable time taking forever to reply you, now it's too late, you don't have enough time to send it any more

Tbf the one ages used on SteelSeries was simply "I will send it off ASAP with first class postage"
3 days later I got the reply "We seem to believe your package was lost in the post"
And about 5 minutes later I received a $160 voucher for the online store, baring in mind the product I was SEing was $159.99, they just sent me the equivalent.
Hope all works out for you OP!
CD.

I told them that the wheel isn't working. The wheel turns, but nothing happens to the car in the game, and I've already tried the troubleshooting protocol

Did you provide tracking info or anything like that?
Honestly, none at all, I simply said first class so expected in 1 day, as it was 3 says, I think they clicked on that it wasn't arriving, although I have seen companies say "We've received your package earlier today" when nothing was sent, I just think they trust the customer as for customer satisfaction they kinda need to and if this was actually the case and it did get lost in the post, what can the customer do about it? Nothing, so I think companies normally go along with it.
Let me know how it goes.
What method did you use for your SE? Was it the item is not working?
