Actually, I wouldn't say I'm trying to base any "points" off of anything. I simply want to know inherent truths that appear to be so evidently discoverable by the usage of a dictionary, but it would appear that no one questions anything written down in those books. Would it not be possible that a dictionary's definition does not truly satisfy a philosophical approach to an issue?

I dont understand what you are getting at.
Just because you look at something with a philosophical point of view does not make the English language null.

Sure you can question the meaning of a word,
but in your debates that is all I see from you.

Awesome thread, Singularity. Fallacies should be something that everyone that attempts to debate understands thoroughly.

All you do in debates is ask for the meaning of words and continue to question whatever the person says. You're obviously not a good debater and never even attempt to prove your point, you simply hope that a person stumbles over there words.

Logical Fallacy, it's bread and butter in the world of politics. We see them everyday in the news.

Thought plus inquiry equals truth.

The basic post on fallacies is good, but some of the examples have logical or factual faults, or at least hint at prejudices on the part of the author. One of the things that I always to point out is that skepticism is a two way street. No skeptic could ever be an Atheist, since that is a belief system based on the blind faith that there is no god or higher spiritual being. A true skeptic would not accept that concept on faith, and there certainly is no hint of proof for no god. Physicists like to quote the improbability of the creation of our universe being accidental as a number too large to write in our universe.
