You're not the only one. I loathed Windows 8 with a passion.

As for the board's Legacy theme, It's simply brilliant.

I'm pleased I wasn't the only one! The aesthetics of the flat, block colour, and boring squares/blocks really took off around that time. I still dislike it to this day. That, and win8 needed improvements off the bat in terms of usability.

I fully agree.

I disliked It right from the get-go, and my view hasn't changed to date.
A terrible-looking OS, and just as bad to work with.

It's nostalgic to say the least! It's was a very good-looking theme in its heyday.

A change of scenery can't hurt. I like it!

Edit: Quick thing I noticed after switching to it, could you remove the Two years of service or the join date on that theme too? It looks a lil redundant.

Forgive me, I'm not sure I follow. Why would you remove the years of service/join dates? Redundant how?

I was vocally against the minimalist trend initially, but it's almost universal now. As the site was improved, it became a lot more usable (and I'd say the same for Windows 10). The original theme definitely has a uniqueness/originality that can't be replicated, but the current is on par with current design trends. The designers I worked with to create/improve both are excellent and we still work with most of them.

The current theme does lend itself well to future changes. Also, the customisation (colour changer and picture), layout, and user friendliness of this theme contribute to one of the few implementations of the minimalist trend that I actually like.

Why have both on the legacy theme for posts? It's nice with just one on the other theme. How is it not redundant?

It just looks cleaner (if anyone wants your exact join date, they can just click your profile).

Also @Oni
Is the new theme set to not display all groups or the display group on one's profile or is that just me?

Sorry, I was just misunderstanding what you were saying. I was slow on the uptake there. You were saying years of service and the join date are showing pretty much the same info twice, right?

Personally, I don't think it looks any less clean, since it follows the format. That, and it's supposed to be a throwback to a 5+ year old theme. To change it from how it was originally, somewhat defeats the point. That's why we upgraded to the modern theme.

However, I see what you're saying too, and I'd be interested to hear Oni's thoughts.
